Welcome to Broadway Elementary School, where every child is a star, and the school motto is “Work hard and do the right thing.”
I am so excited to be continuing my education career in the Central Valley School District, and am thrilled to be working at Broadway.
By way of introducing myself, I was the principal at Liberty Elementary and Junior High School from 1995 through 2011, and I started as principal at Broadway in the fall of 2011. I have also held most other positions in a school at one time or another; I have taught grades 1-8, and I have also worked as a paraeducator, custodian, substitute teacher, and high school debate coach. I attended elementary through high school in Spokane, then graduated from Dartmouth College with a government major and an elementary teaching certificate. I earned my master's degree in school administration from Eastern Washington University, and hold a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Gonzaga University. Working in education is the best job there is, and working in the Central Valley School District is a tremendous privilege.
I am very proud to be part of the groundbreaking work that is going on in Central Valley and at Broadway in the areas of classroom instruction, complex trauma, and innovative practice. The staff here is incredibly dedicated, the P.T.O. is second to none, and the students and community are warm and welcoming.
Whether you are new to Broadway or have been here for awhile, I always look forward to working with you and welcome you to contact me if you have any thoughts, questions, or concerns.
